Don't Give Up!

Obviously there are many meanings to life. And I think a significant one is, pursuing a dream. Countless factors enter-in when we decide to focus and move toward a goal. But, in the bigger scheme of it all, I think the process is just as important if not more important than the goal.
We can become narrow-minded when we think winning means getting to the finish line. Because in reality, the finish-line is only final at the time of death.
Don't get me wrong, I'm like everyone else is his/her relentless pursuit of happiness, success, peace, freedom, etc. However, I now embrace the process of getting there, falling and getting back up and even a few redirections along the way.
God has a purpose, a destiny for all of us and if we stay committed to not giving up, He does open doors, closes windows and gives us 'just enough' at the right time, to keep striving.
I am getting closer to a obtaining a dream (actually a few dreams) and I wish I trusted the process alot sooner, cause I think my letting go of so much control is what's allowing it all to come together.

Who is ... What Is His Kids?

His Kids is an answered prayer! A clothing Boutique whose proceeds benefits children who have lost one or both parents.
On January 24, 2004 while 4 months pregnant (with my daughter) and raising my one year old son - my husband was homicide victim #7 in San Francisco, Ca.
Needless to say - I was devastated.
Months after my daughter Savana was born - one day I cried out "whose going to help me with my children?" then, in a still small voice I heard the Lord say, they are His Kids and he will take care of them! And He has! Despite the tragedy and loss of a husband and father, my children and I have been Well taken care of. My mother, my family, friends and my late-husband's family have surrounded us with love, money, resources, babysitting, transportation, any and everything a family could ask for! Therefore, His Kids is an opportunity for me to show the love of Jesus to others who also have experienced such loss.
I openned His Kids Clothing boutique in November 2008 at the san Francisco Crocker Galleria (another blessing)! Our mission is to use the proceeds from the store to provide new clothes as well as additional opportunities and resources to families in need.
Unfortunately, my late-husband, Vernon Green, Jr. grew up in an extremely impoverished community in the San Francisco's Sunnydale Housing Projects in Visitacion Valley. he was exposed to drug dealing, drug use, violence and incarceration at an early age. The lifestyle he knew so well was the ultimate cause of his death.
After we married, we move several times outside of the city, but the lure of his familiar environment continued to draw Vernon back.
He was killed 2blocks from where he grew up.

I have always had a desire to open a clothing boutique, I had worked as a business consultant for 2 years, I taught as a certified youth entrepreneur instructor for 10 years and I worked in retail while I was a college student. So, combining my skills and acting on a vision from the Lord I openned His Kids Clothing Company.
